Inspection fees are a tax on hope. They are charged by agents who know that 90% of viewings produce no transaction, and they have decided that the prospective tenant — not the landlord — should subsidise their time.
The result is predictable: agents have a financial incentive to schedule as many viewings as possible, regardless of whether the listing is genuinely available, accurately described, or even real.
We banned inspection fees on Propabridge from day one. Every viewing through our platform is free for the customer. Agents are paid on transactions, not on hope. The market quietly works better.
